ABOUT:
The Galleries of Ringling College is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Sarasota-based artist and Ringling College faculty member Anthony Rice, on view from November 3 through December 12, 2025. Known for his multidisciplinary approach and dynamic visual language, Rice’s work explores the intersection of identity, culture, and materiality through a diverse range of media including painting, sculpture, and mixed media installation. Drawing upon personal narrative, historical references, and formal experimentation, Rice invites viewers into layered compositions that challenge perception while offering space for reflection and discovery.

This exhibition highlights Rice’s commitment to both conceptual depth and technical rigor, showcasing new and recent works that reflect his evolving practice as both artist and educator. Through bold color palettes, tactile surfaces, and a distinctive sense of rhythm and balance, Rice continues to push boundaries while remaining grounded in dialogue with tradition and place. As a long-standing member of the Ringling College community, his work embodies the spirit of innovation and inquiry that defines the institution, offering audiences an opportunity to engage with one of Sarasota’s most thoughtful and compelling contemporary voices.
