In the fridge, cut watermelon can last between 3 and 5 days.

What happens when the things we’ve been told to preserve begin to shift? We are trained to keep our beliefs, values, and inherited truths fresh, to protect them from exposure, from time, from decay. But how long can something remain intact once it’s removed from its packaging, carried away, or tossed out? Keep Refrigerated invites artists to deconstruct what they’ve kept sealed like unopened food and to witness what changes in the process. What rots? What endures? Why, and who gets to decide?
