Ligature XVI: In Type We Trust
February 6 - April 11, 2026
Willis Smith Gallery
ABOUT:
Ligature XVI: In Type We Trust, celebrates 16 years of typographic exploration from Ringling College of Art & Design in the annual student-led juried exhibition. The show will feature works from students across all majors, exploring type in categories such as Drop Caps, Type in Motion, Hand Lettering, and Original Typefaces.
Ligature XVI: In Type We Trust looks back to the origins of the Type Club, drawing inspiration from the very first club meeting poster in 2010. The exhibition celebrates the enduring spirit of typographic curiosity and innovation, honoring both the history and evolution of type. This year’s theme encourages designers to experiment, push boundaries, and reflect on the trust we place in type to communicate, inspire, and shape meaning.
This year's exhibition is directed by Ivy Jenkins and Daniel Mainou, and produced by Camila Ayala, Keona Mulcahy, Paige Clipsham, and Samantha Mandato in association with Ringling Type Club.
